TESTIMONIALS

Sebastian Trujillo is both a horticulturalist and an artist. He transformed my dreary little backyard space into a small magic garden. He's prompt and responsible and answered all my questions. And listened to all my suggestions. A pleasure to work with; I recommend him highly.

Sebastian was so great to work with. A true collaborator. He brought his vision to my project, heard my own vision for it, and found a way to bring the best of both visions to the work at hand... and what remained was a clean, reshaped garden that was not only ready for the winter, but is ready with bulbs for spring.

Sebastian’s mission to educate and bring awareness of conservation efforts in Colombia is wonderful. By offering visitors the opportunity to experience the natural beauty and culture of his homeland, Sebastian will create a unique and impactful addition to eco conscious tourism.  And I love his cozy and fun embroidered apparel that creates a wearable link between his mission and daily life".

ADVENTURES IN COLOMBIA

Hiking the second largest monolith in Colombia was one of the biggest challenges while i visited my home country in 2019. The mountain was filled with many lithophytes Anthuriums and incredible Monsteras. Let me not forget Philodendron melanocrysum taking over the bottom of the mountain in large populations, Definitely an experience!

WORKING WITH LOCALS

Antonio Constantino is naturalist based in Cali, Colombia who works with the conservation and research of many Aroids and Orchids. He currently has over 10 acres of land where he protects and cares for endangered species by propagating and sharing with other naturalist across the country.

FOLIAGE AND LANDSCAPES

While visiting Nirvana's Natural Preserve in Valle del Cauca, I found incredible inspiration on how to use Aroid foliage in Urban Landscapes. Anthurium waroqueanun is without a doubt one specimen that will strike the human eye from far away. it's semi pendent dark green lamina makes great statement for the entrance of Nirvana. Caring for this amazing Aroid is not as complicated as it looks. Having its roots well aerated with a mix of bark and debris from fallen leaves is what i've found this beautiful plant uses to thrive in its natural habitat. it is almost like growing an Orchid.
